One of the greatest things in life is identity — knowing who you are, the discovery of who you are. After the fall of man in Genesis 3, man totally lost his identity.
You begin to see that the existence of man afterwards was about who begat who. It all ended on the story of procreation only. Stories of Adam begat Seth. Seth begat Enosh. The list went on and on — until it got to Enoch. Something shifted. Another walk started again with God.
Genesis · The walk of EnochOnly a few changed the tides of their time
Only a few persons changed the tides of their time. And the Bible declared that Enoch walked with God. He had understanding of his identity.
In the New Testament, Jesus, while in the course of His teaching, came to a point while teaching on the Beatitudes and declared in Matthew 5:13: Ye are the salt of the earth.
A matter of identityAnytime the Bible talks about "ye"
Anytime the Bible talks about "ye," it is pointing to identity. God used the word SALT as a figurative expression to drive home a point to us. Why? Value.
Sugar is sweet, but still it does not give taste. Salt spices up everything. We are the salt of the earth. There is so much stored up in this earthen vessel that God wants to bring out of you. There is so much uniqueness that heaven has deposited on the inside of you — that can only be activated by returning to the manual of our lives, which is Jesus.
Ye are children of God. Ye are the salt of the earth.
Therefore, child of God, you are not empty. You are not the fool they assumed you to be. There is something about you. You are not what life has labelled you.
Listen. The circumstances of life may have gotten you where you are presently — but that place is not your reality, nor the truth about who God has created you to be. That place in your life is not your reality.
Tell yourself: this place I am in right now is not my reality. You know what your reality is. Your reality is in Jesus. God has a pre-ordained life and plan for you. Ye are the salt of the earth.
The word of God is such that it is line upon line, precept upon precept. I pray for you today — that the Spirit of God will invade your mind and bring about the reality of Jesus Christ into your heart, and draw you ever closer to Him.
